Sign a PDF in four steps
Whether you are signing it yourself or collecting a signature from a client, the flow is the same.
1. Upload the PDF
Add your PDF to a new document. Word and other office files are converted to PDF automatically.
2. Place the fields
Drop a signature field where it belongs, plus date or text fields if you need them. Add fields for each person who signs.
3. Sign or send
Sign it yourself right there, or send a secure link so someone else can sign from their own device.
4. Download the signed PDF
When signing is complete, download the finalized PDF with a completion certificate attached.
Why sign PDFs online instead of printing
- No printer, scanner, or fax needed
- Sign from a phone, tablet, or computer
- Send to others — they sign with no account
- A timestamped record of who signed and when
- Encrypted, private storage of the signed file
- A completion certificate on every finished document
Frequently asked questions
- Can I sign a PDF without printing it?
- Yes. That is the whole point of signing online: you upload the PDF, place your signature where it belongs, and download the signed file — no printer, scanner, or app required.
- Can I sign a PDF on my phone?
- Yes. Open the document link in your phone’s browser, and sign by drawing with your finger or typing your name. It works the same on a tablet or computer.
- How do I get someone else to sign a PDF?
- Upload the PDF, place signature and date fields where the other person should sign, and send it as a secure link by email. They open it, sign, and you both receive the completed PDF — they never need an account.
- Is a PDF signed this way legally valid?
- Electronic signatures are generally enforceable under the ESIGN Act and UETA for everyday agreements when the signer intended to sign and consented to sign electronically. Some documents have special requirements. This is general information, not legal advice.
- What if my document is a Word file, not a PDF?
- You can upload common Word and office formats; they are converted to PDF automatically before you place fields and send.
- Is my document kept private?
- Yes. There are no public links. Uploaded and signed documents are encrypted at rest and only reachable through access-controlled links, and a completion certificate is added to the finished PDF.
