Frequently asked questions
- Why does per-user pricing get expensive for small offices?
- Because everyone who sends needs a seat, including people who send only a few documents a month — a paralegal, an assistant, a second attorney. Per-user plans also usually cap envelopes per user, so a busy month can push you into overages or a higher tier.
- Is flat pricing always cheaper?
- No. For a single person sending a handful of documents, a low-priced per-user plan can cost less. And some flat-rate tools offer unlimited basic sending for around $9–12 a month; if all you need is to get a signature on a PDF occasionally, compare those too. Price is only one part of it — templates, packets, signing order and support matter if you send the same paperwork to every client.
- Where do the default numbers come from?
- DocuSign’s public list price for its Standard plan, billed annually, and its stated envelope allowance, as researched in September 2026. Prices change and many buyers are quoted differently — replace them with your own quote.
